A witness who was outside when the shooting happened told 8News he tried to administer CPR to the girl after she was shot multiple times. He was in the neighbourhood working on a home when he saw two girls walking on a path that leads from Godwin High School.

They were being closely followed by a man. When officers arrived, they found a teenage boy suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries, Pecka said. The victim’s identity is being withheld because of his age.

There, police say they found a juvenile who had been shot. Henrico Police, Fire and EMS administered aid and transported the child to the hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.

According to the Henrico County Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of East Laburnum Avenue and Conway Street just after 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18 for a report of a shooting.
