He had been on life support in a foreign hospital after going into a coma. But Mr. Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary, stated the hearsay is not true as the Governor was on the 1st part of his 2022 annual leave and duly notified the State House of Assembly in a letter to the state House Assembly that he would be away for 14 working days dated 23rd of March 2022. The statement also observed that the Governor duly transferred power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
After the death rumored demise of the Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor and his handlers have issued a video in which the governor was watched dancing and singing inside the room. This video debunked the recent media reports that asserted that the governor was hospitalized abroad.
His wife wrote a caption alongside the video, “That is Baba Aketi, continue enjoying your vacation. What am I hearing? ‘Shitlover’ again? It is you that will go to hellfire.)”

Last week, another reporter asserted that the governor passed away in a German hospital. The wife of the governor after the posted the video on her Facebook page, which is currently going viral, asserted that her husband is presently on vacation. In the video that lasted 19 seconds, the governor was watched in a room with a man suspected to be one of his aides, singing gospel songs and dancing. The date of the video was recorded was not stated.
In the meantime, a news outlet authoritatively reports Governor Akeredolu himself has come back to Nigeria. He reached the International wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria at around 10:35 PM on Sunday, 17th of April 2022. A video of his arrival was shared on Twitter by his Chief Press Secretary, Olatunde Richard, and retweeted by the handle of the Governor.
