A hopeful congressional outsider in New York has made waves in his bid to overthrow incumbent Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY).

Mike Itkis posted a porn video “Bucket List Bonanza” to draw attention to his sex positivity campaign platform. He claims the film is the first time he has dealt with such naughty behavior in front of the camera, but hopes it will spark discussion.

“I’m a nerd who doesn’t like to be the center of attention, if I can help. But I think the problems I’m trying to solve are really important…I want to talk about my problems in some way,” he told New York City and State.

Itkis is a former Army cyber operations officer who is expected to lose to Nadler in the midterm elections. His platform calls for decriminalizing sex work, arguing that “men should not be required to raise their own children without prior consent”.

His 13-minute video, posted on a porn site, shows him acting with adult film star Nicole Sage.

“Just talking about it doesn’t show my commitment to the issue. The fact that I did do it was a huge learning experience and it actually influenced elements on my platform,” he said in an interview with New York City and the state added when.
