Scott, herself finally got word of the commotion and responded to the viral Twitter storm on Wednesday.

“Say word!?!” the songstress joked, sharing a GIF of herself.

“I expect this energy when my new movies, albums and tv shows drop,” she continued. “Ya’ll too much. #headedbacktowork #hydrate.”

Scott emerged as a Verzuz phenomenon in 2020 after going head-to-head on the virtual battle series against neo-soul queen Erykah Badu.

However, Scott explained before and after the event, her and Badu’s Verzuz showdown was more of a “celebration” of each other’s discographies than a traditional “battle.”

“I didn’t like the ‘battle’ energy of [Verzuz], that kinda turned me off,” she told Big Tigger on RADIO.com and V-103 days after the event.
